A cannonball is joyous and purposeful. It requires research, confidence, and coordination. By nature a big splash is designed to make waves as it takes you out of your comfort zone. And sure, it will not thrill all those on the sidelines when little specks of water inevitably sprinkle the air. You can do it; you can make the leap!
About Sarah Feingold
An international speaker, Sarah Feingold motivates others on how to confidently create and dive into opportunities.
Born an artist, Sarah Feingold decided the best way to protect creative folk like herself was to attend law school. She then cannonballed into Etsy as the 17th employee and first lawyer. For nearly a decade, she played an integral role in scaling Etsy from an inconspicuous startup to a publicly traded company. After Etsy, Sarah joined Vroom as its General Counsel and first attorney. In 2018, The New York Law Journal awarded Sarah with the General Counsel Impact Award for her accomplishments. Sarah co-founded The Fourth Floor, is a NYU Law School fellow, and consults for various startups. You can also find her making things, writing, eating candy, hammering silver, and chasing her child.

I had the pleasure to attend Sarah Feingold's NYIPLA talk. I was prepared for a long, lackluster, attorney presentation but was pleasantly surprised and so entertained that I wished that Sarah's speech was longer. I was inspired listening to how we need to create our opportunities and use our talents and our networks to their fullest potential. As a metal artist I was also excited to be able to connect on an artistic level. A truly inspiring evening.

I heard Sarah speak at the Indiana Conference for Women and am so glad I chose to attend her session! What was inspiring for me was her story of blending her different interests and going wholeheartedly after what she wanted. So many of us struggle to integrate our various interests and passions, waiting until “some other time” to take the leap, but Sarah helped me see that maybe I don’t have to wait….and that we can (literally or figuratively) have an Etsy shop with our beautiful jewelry and lead exciting, new companies with our legal expertise. Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your story and inspiring me.
